Employee Spotlight - Lucian Cretu

This month we are delighted to catch up with our Sales Manager for CEE, Russia and Former CIS countries, Lucian Cretu. Lucian covers all Lab Products across sister companies Froilabo, Precisa, Edinburgh Sensors and Dynamica. Find out what a typical day looks like for Lucian and what he enjoys doing outside of work.

Can you describe a typical day?

My morning begins with a herbal tea which is when I write down all my activities for the day. I check my calendar, check/reply to emails and customer phone calls, customer visits, writing quotes and update the Salesforce database. I attend team meetings that are scheduled and discuss the week with my colleagues Givanni, Marzia, Alin and Allan.

Outwith working hours I dedicate my time to family and hobbies.

What do you like most about your job?

The most interesting part of my job is given by my contacts cultural diversity: Russian, East Europeans, former CIS countries, Greeks, Turks, West Europeans: French, British, Suisse and Italians.

I get to interact with people from different cultures and that is what I enjoy most.

Are there any challenges that come with the job?

Every job comes with challenges but for me the challenge is to better cover such a vast territory, almost 25 countries given the actual conditions.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

In my spare time I enjoy outdoor activities, especially skiing. I enjoy spending time with my family – seeing each other as much as possible around our busy schedules. I also enjoy playing table-tennis, travelling and historical reading.

Our favourite spot in the world is New Zealand. There are so many things that link us to this wonderful place.

Do you have any goals you would like to achieve for the year ahead?

I have plenty of goals I wish to achieve such as, closing important projects I am currently working on, achieving sales numbers and raising my expertise by learning more about the vast range of products.
